Chlorophyll - the Bacteria Killer

Green plant pigment …
Chlorophyll is the green pigment in plants and is very similar in its chemical structure to the ferrous red blood pigment. The main difference is that chlorophyll contains magnesium instead of iron!

Haematopoiesis …
As a result of this chemical similarity to blood pigment, chlorophyll also supports the formation of blood. In animal models, the combination of iron supplementation and chlorophyll supplementation proved to be particularly beneficial!

Antioxidant …
Chlorophyll is also a member of the large group of antioxidants. It protects lipids from oxidation processes and thus counteracts an early depletion or destruction of cell membranes.

Against bad breath …
Chlorophyll is used above all to prevent bad breath and body odour.

Antibacterial …
Chlorophyll has an antibacterial effect and inhibits the growth of tuberculosis bacilli, for example. Chlorophyll also strengthens the immune system and stimulates liver metabolism.

Supply & Demand …
Chlorophyll is found only in plant foods – especially in nettle leaves, spinach, broccoli, wheatgrass, alfalfa (Lucerne grass) and oats. There is hardly any information about demand, because a chlorophyll deficiency is also unknown! The recommendations range from 100 mg to 1 g.
